Details:
Ever wanted to try surf fishing but didn't know where to start? Or have you tried to surf fish but haven't had much success? Join the knowledgeable staff and volunteer instructors of the Pechmann Fishing Education Center along with the rangers of FCPR for this introductory class. This is a two-part program consisting of a 2 hour classroom seminar followed by an optional field trip to a beach. Topics include: common fish of the Carolina surf, identifying good fishing spots, tides, choosing the right fishing gear, bait, lures, rigs and more. You must attend the seminar to be eligible for the fishing trip. Participants who attended a past seminar are already eligible.

**Register for the trip through Lake Rim Park starting Oct. 1. Space is limited.

On the day of the trip, we will meet at 7:15 am at Arnette Park located at 2165 Wilmington Hwy. Follow the driveway almost completely around to the paved parking lot next to the soccer fields.

What to Wear: Dress for the weather. Bring sun protection and wear shoes appropriate for the beach. Be prepared to get wet. Bring a change of clothes and towel.

What to Bring: Medications you may need for an emergency such as a bee sting, asthma attack, or diabetic shock
