State Park Hiking Challenge
Our mission will be to hike all the state parks in North Carolina. New destinations will be planned each month. Some park visits will be day trips and some will require overnight stays. Expect at least 4-5 miles hiking, ranging from moderate to strenuous. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Transportation will be provided. We will meet at the Parks and Rec headquarters located at 121 Lamon Street.
Bring water, snacks, lunch, and any medication you may need for an emergency such as a bee sting, asthma attack, or diabetic shock.
If you need to contact staff the day of the trip, call the park cell phone at (910)988-4094.
Jan.: Hike along the scenic Eno River and around Occoneechee Mountain to explore a variety of flora and fauna, some which are rare, and maybe even discover a piece of history.
A waitlist will be used once class registration is full. Please call (910)433-1018 to be added to the waiting list.
