Explore the many scenic waterbodies in our area from the piedmont to the coast. Destination will be determined based on weather and water conditions. We recommend beginners participate in a lake tour before going on a kayak trip to practice kayaking skills. All equipment and transportation will be provided. Have your own boat? Trips are offered at a discounted price for those providing their own boat and transportation. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Register early, space is limited.
Dress for the weather, synthetic clothing is best because it dries faster than cotton. An outer layer that is windproof and water resistant/proof is a good idea for cooler days. Wear shoes you do not mind getting wet and muddy, avoid sandals.
Bring water, a bag lunch, and sun protection.
Bring any medication you may need for an emergency such as a bee sting, asthma attack, or diabetic shock.
Park staff will contact you the week of the trip with meeting location.
If you need to contact staff the day of the trip, call the park cell phone at (910)988-4094.
**This registration is for participants who need a kayak provided. Participants who would like to bring their own boat should register for the Kayak Trip Own Boat in November.
A waitlist will be used once class registration is full. Please call (910)433-1018 to be added to the waiting list.
